Annotation: The article deals with the problematic aspects of modern methods of mass (cadastral) assessment of agricultural land. The aim of the study is to develop the principles of mass evaluation of agricultural land, taking into account the natural potential of the territory. The paper reveals the thesis that land plots, as units of assessment, do not take into account the natural and economic properties of the land. The study introduces the concept of the primary evaluation unit. The primary unit of assessment is the soil difference, which allows taking into account the natural properties of the soil. The article presents a hierarchy of assessment units of agricultural lands of the municipal district. Five types of natural and agricultural assessment layers on the territory of Altai Territoryare allocated and the principles of mass assessment of lands of agricultural purpose taking into account natural potential of the territory are formulated. For example, the test area shows the principles of establishing evaluation units on the map data
