Annotation:  Modern education is in a state of intensive development and, at the same time, close attention on the part of society, the pedagogical and parental community. One of the components of innovative activity of organizations of general and additional education of children is the implementation of ethnocultural education. This direction is intended to reflect the national and regional peculiarities of the Republic of Buryatia and provides for the possibility of introducing into the educational process a substantive content related to the history and culture of its people. One of the unique layers of traditional Russian culture is the subculture of the "semeiskie" Buryatia The article presents the experience of the organization of ethnocultural education of Russian schoolchildren on the example of areas of compact residence of the descendants of the Old Believers - the "semeiskie" of Buryatia. Particular attention is paid to the methodological support of lessons on the history of culture of the family Buryatia at different levels of general secondary education. An extensive training and methodological kit for primary, secondary and high school is analyzed. In conclusion, the authors come to the conclusion that the introduction of materials on the history and culture of "semeiskie" in the places of their compact residence in the conditions of a multi-confessional region will satisfy the demands of the society and will promote the upbringing of children in the spirit of harmony, peace and respect for the culture of their people and, as a consequence, the history and culture of other nations
