Annotation:  The article analyzes social adaptation values, attitudes, practices and life strategies of residents of a Russian province based on data from a sociological study. It is shown that in the set of val-ues and attitudes, both practices and attitudes toward professional and productive mobility are rather weakly expressed, there is mainly pragmatic motivation for professional activities, a focus on stable, albeit small, earnings as opposed to risky financial and economic strategies and prac-tices; privacy and rejection of civic activity. The findings evidence the dominance of conserva-tive life strategies, the stability of sociocultural patterns, which dictate the need for maximum distance from power and mistrust towards social institutions. At the same time, the attitude of territorial mobility and a rather strong severity of entrepreneurial orientations, although an indi-rect marker of the narrowness and problematic nature of regional labor markets, indicates that a large part of the population has an active adaptation potential.
