Annotation: The article analyzes the views of N. N. Strakhov associated with patriotic themes. Explicated the types of patriotism and presents the components of "conscious" patriotism, among which the understanding of spiritual principles of life of the Russian people and the determination of the place of Russia in world historical process. The identified core values of the worldview of Strakhov, determined the reasons for its rejection of certain facilities of the Western culture, but also shows the relevance of the concept of patriotism in the realities of modern Russia.
