Annotation: The article considers the Black Sea region in the context of the national security policy of the Russian Federation from the standpoint of foreign and domestic authors. The Black Sea region is an interesting direction for analysis due to its theoretical and applied novelty and its consideration in the context of the national security policy of the Russian Federation seems relevant. The aim of the study is to determine the role of the Black Sea region in the context of the national security of Russia in the works of Western authors, analysis of the existence and content of works by Russian authors on the stated subject. The object of the research is the Black Sea region as a whole, and the subject is its role in the implementation of the national security policy of the Russian Federation on the basis of theoretical studies. The solution of the tasks set led to the conclusion that for all the authors mentioned in the article, not only the whole Black Sea region was considered, but also the most important subjects of international policy in the context of the national security of the Russian Federation, among which Ukraine, Turkey, Georgia can be distinguished.
