Annotation:  The rapid development of information technology entails the transformation of the religious system. Religion and religiousness do not lose their significance, in spite of the theory of secularization, but adapt to modern conditions. They function according to the laws of market economy, significantly influence on the political and economic life of our society. Traditional religious attitudes are transformed and both the role and socio-cultural significance of traditional religions decrease. The means of religious information delivery and religious communication vary. Interest in nonconventional manifestations of religion, mysticism, occultism and esoterics increases. There are new religious movements. This in turn entails the growth of religious fundamentalism, religious extremism and terrorism. New information technologies instantly turn religious conflicts, occurring anywhere in the world, into the world public domain.
