Annotation:  The article deals with the phenomenon of “post-secular» in the context of crisis phenomena in the field of modern spiritual culture. It is noted incompleteness of the most common interpretation of this phenomenon associated with the idea of «the return of religion». It is shown that the religious, as well as the irreligious state of modern man is quite complex from an existential point of view phenomenon. As a concept for a more adequate analysis of contemporary spiritual culture processes, the system of views of J. Heizinga is taken, and above all, his idea of «indifference to the truth» as the most accurate indicator of the decline of culture.

Keywords:  post-secular society, atheism and theism, science and religion, faith and existence, truth, the decline of culture
