The anthropic grounds of sport as part of modern culture

Annotation:  The article presents philosophical and culturological analysis of the nature of sports as phenomenon of modern culture. Its anthropic grounds are in the focus of attention. It is stated that sports successfully combines physical, psychological and spiritual practices. At the same time competitive activity, which is characteristic of sports, does not bear antagonism because it is not connected with the problem of survival of neither individual nor mankind in general.Humanistic constituent of sports is expressed in the principle of Olympism. This principle reflects fundamental values of liberal world view. In this connection the existence of modern professional sports as a product of industrial society is explained by the author.
