Annotation:  Culture is not only traditions, not only the memory of the past, not only the cult of ancestors. Culture only corresponds to its purpose when it is constantly created, when new cultural values appear, when it comprehends itself and the ways of its development. What place in the cultural and philosophical views of the Russian religious philosopher devoted to the phenomenon of creativity? What aspects of the understanding of creativity put forward and justified one of the representatives of this direction? The article is devoted to one of the most mysterious and exciting problems – the problem of creativity, which became the subject of special study only in the twentieth century in connection with the powerful growth of mass culture. Culture only corresponds to its purpose when it is constantly created, when new cultural values appear, when it comprehends itself and the ways of its development. The article reveals the features of the understanding of creativity in the views of the Russian religious philosopher N. Ah. Berdyaev.
