Annotation:  Essential oils of species of the family Apiaceae (Umbeliferae), with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, are promising sources of new drugs, in connection with the research component composition Heracleum asperum (Hoffm.) Bieb. it is relevant. For the first time methods of gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to study the composition of essential oil of fruit hogweed hard, collected in autumn 2014 in the mountainous part of North Ossetia-Alania. Data are shown for the first time on the component composition of essential oil from fruit of Heracleum asperum (Hoffm.) Bieb. The fruit were collected in the mountain area of North Ossetia-Alania Republic. For comparison used, the fruits of this species were taken from plants grown in the conditions of introduction into the Leningrad region. It is shown that the main components are octanol (13.7%), octylacetate (42.5%) and octylbutirate (17.8%). In essential oil of the fruit, collected in the places of the species natural habitat, there are no terpenes (α-pinene and β-pinene – 10.2 and 15.5%, respectively), which appear in the essential oil after introduction of H. asperum to the Russia North-West (Leningrad region). Therefore, the fruit of H. asperum can be used for the isolation of essential oil contained therein, the individual components, which are used in perfumery, cosmetics and medical industries.
