Turgenev the 1850th years about "the excess person" and tragic value of love find not only thematic, but also structural unity, the author of work addresses consideration of narrative structure of stories of I.S. Turgenev of the specified period. Work is addressed to students philologists, undergraduates and graduate students. Leaning on a structural and typological method, the author of article analyzes the typology of narrative forms used by the writer, in detail stopping on consideration of the subject organization of the story "Faust". Confirming the established opinion on the fact that the addressing the narration from the first person is more characteristic of an art manner of Turgenev, the author of work comes to a conclusion that during this period the writer has created "uniform" narrative structure which allowed to combine "advantages" of different narrative types. In her the objectivity and realness of statement, "clarity" and "simplicity" of the story for which the artist strove are in many respects caused by combination of forms and types of the narration. At the same time the rights of the author-artist even more extend. He has an opportunity to show to the reader the various faces, coming into contact not only with the storyteller, but also the story-teller, and even heroes. Turgenev artist doesn't allow the characters to observe only independently the reality phenomena, to draw conclusions. But, being a sovereign creator of the art world created by him, he carefully hides "the face" and "the addictions".
