The activity of Kamensk agricultural school In period of the First World War

Annotation:  This article is devoted to the history of Donbass during the First World War period. Author investigates the problem of Kamensk agricultural school activity in period of 1914 - 1918. The article determined the social and economical conditions for the opening of agricultural school in Kamensk. «Narodnaya Gazeta Bakhmutskogo Zemstva» is the general newspaper in Bakhmut district, which is founded in 1904. On the pages of this newspaper, almost the entire spectrum of problems urgent for the provincial citizen is reflected. Those facts are sufficiently fully depicted in the materials of the socio-cultural orientation. The newspaper provided for readers with mainly information on local life and the development of agriculture. The article defines socio-economic conditions for the opening of an educational institution. The main directions of his activity during the First World War were revealed. The original purpose of the established school was to carry out certain agrarian activities within the county with a view to promoting improved methods of farming among the population, but it was his charity, with the active participation of the district Zemstvo, in the conditions of the war proved to be quite effective. Due to the experience gained, the students proved the feasibility of financing and the existence of the school in rural areas. Author came to the conclusion that the activities of Zemstvo were patriotic and were designed to help the families of soldiers who went to war.
