Annotation: The article is devoted to the analysis of the provisions of the legislation on the responsibility of municipal employees in the event of failure to take measures to prevent or resolve conflicts of interest. The causes and consequences of a conflict of interest are studied; measures aimed at preventing and resolving the conflict. The principles of overcoming the conflict in the municipal service are formulated. It is concluded that there is a need for good faith not only from municipal employees, but also from those who apply disciplinary responsibility, as well as prosecutorial authorities
