Possibilities for using Russian «Soft power» to overcome mistrust in the Russian-Iranian relations

Annotation:  The article considers the tools of "soft power" that Russia can be used to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the contemporary globalized world that is experiencing an era of changes, states try to use all available means to keep and strengthen their positions. One of the key tasks of Russian foreign policy is the formation of a positive image in transformation of the system of international relations. Despite the accumulated Historical Grievances in relations between the two countries, Russia and Iran have a great potential for development of humanitarian and economic cooperation. The authors focus on the influence of media on contemporary society, the issue of education, tourism and other spheres of bilateral cooperation. Finally, the authors are offering their own ideas for strengthening the soft power of Russia, including the launch of a Persian language television channel by Russia, the opening of cultural centers in Iran and the development of joint environmental standards, etc
