Annotation:  The relevance of the research topic is determined by the fact that in Russian society the question of the formation of Russian identity remains open. There are still discussions about what should be considered the basis of Russian identity (civic values, statehood, multiethnic, or cultural-historical and ethno-confessional traditions). The aim of the study is the cultural and philosophical reflection of the identity matrix of Orthodoxy in modern Russian society. The article considers the formation and formation of the Russian state-civil identity in the context of actualization of the identity matrix of Orthodoxy as a cultural model containing a set of attitudes aimed at spiritual and social self-determination of the individual in Russian society. Based on the comparative analysis of the proposed models of Russian identity, the author concludes that the identity matrix of Orthodoxy affects not only the cultural aspect of the formation of Russian identity, associated with the harmonization of interethnic relations and the development of cultural and national identity, but also is an actual cultural model of the formation of Russian state and civil identity. Philosophical understanding of the identity matrix of Orthodoxy shows its role as a cultural model that implements Orthodox attitudes in specific identification practices, which contains new knowledge, compared to the understanding of Orthodoxy as a cultural tradition focused on the past or the eclecticism of demonstrative identities. The author presents the main mechanisms of influence and representation of Orthodoxy in the formation of Russian identity, which allows us to understand the influence of Orthodoxy not only as a cultural and civilizational basis of Russian identity, but also to develop a conceptual apparatus for the study of Orthodoxy as a cultural aspect of Russian identity.

Keywords:  identification matrix of Orthodoxy, models of national integration, Russian identity, trajectory of Orthodoxy, cultural and symbolic code.
