Annotation:  The article examines in detail the history of the legislation on counteraction to false cooperation in the 20th century in the USSR. With the use of a wide range of sources (legal, historical and economic studies), the periodization of the development of this legislation was carried out; the distinctive features of the state policy in relation to false cooperation in each of the selected historical periods were shown. The study of false cooperation, legal policy and practice of the state in relation to false cooperatives is not only of great cognitive importance, but also of practical use for the purpose of finding legal solutions to counter the creation of fictitious legal entities at the present time.
