Annotation:  Mediatrices methods – methods of the printed mass-media with the use of expressive means and rhetorical figures, which also possess all the properties of political communication. In this article, by means of research methods: comparison, description, comparative and critical discourse analysis, the author explores the peculiarities of coverage the Constitutional crisis in Russia in the "Nezavisimaya gazeta". After analyzing the main publications from december 1992 to the end of september 1993, the author comes to the following conclusions: first, "Nezavisimaya gazeta", with the help of expressive and rhetorical means, sought to draw the attention of the legislative and executive authorities to the solution of economic problems in the country, and to have less influence on readers. Secondly, for objectivity and impartiality, I sought to cover as widely as possible all points of view, even contradicting each other, on one event. Third, actively exposed the manipulation of the authorities, but this reception – constant accusations and exposure of the use of propaganda tricks, the newspaper also attracted the attention of readers to the political process. Fourth, the newspaper's articles were distinguished by high-quality analytics and forecasts. Forecasts though refer to manipulative methods, but the use of well-known facts by the newspaper, analysis of specific actions and statements of the parties, allowed to achieve high quality of materials and reflected the balance of power in society at that time.
