Annotation:  In the article on a case study of the territory of the southern Russian frontier of Tambov province most spe-cific in the historical and geographical relation, the process of healing the specific features of the social structure of the population of the recently outlying territory of the Russian state is considered. On the basis of tax books 1786, 1793, 1796, 1808, 1814, 1817, 1834, 1836, 1851, 1858 yrs. the author shows the final period of transformation of various categories of the frontier population («odnodvortsy» and their servs, socially-national groups of «yasachnye» and «budnyt» peasants, Murzes and Tatars, Cherkasts, Gypsies, etc.) into the integral group of the state peasants which by the middle of XIX century was completely a part of the population of metropolis. The calculations given in the article will make it possible to verify the previ-ously created fractal model of the development of the zone of the South Russian frontier and, at the same time, to supplement the difficult mathematical formulations with quite clear descriptive data.
