Annotation:  In the present article the author sets several goals. First, he tries to explain the conceptual models of interaction of interest groups and the state. Second, he determines the role of interest groups in the political process. Third, the author estimates the benefits of democratic political process which are the result of the work of democratic political institutes. The author studies different works of Russian and foreign researchers explaining the conceptual issues of political theories. The author comes to the conclusion that in modern political science there have developed the concepts of pluralism, corporatism and political networks. The author pays special attention to the analysis of the network approach to the process of interaction of interest groups and the state
